Yet another curry, ever so popular all over India and usually cooked with different spices in different households. Aloo Matar is a simple dish of potatoes and peas in a spicy tomato based sauce.
There has not been a single moment in my life when the Mediterranean food has disappointed me. From the wide spread mezze, to the diverse distribution of main and side dishes and of course the mouthwatering desserts – every bite of the cuisine is exciting and satisfying.
I like the sound of “Lady’s Finger” better than “Okra”. It could be that I am more used to the Lady Finger, since we were not aware of the existence of the word “Okra” before we came here; or simply because the lady’s finger visually couples better with the this slender vegetable.
I guess I have to give in and admit that autumn has arrived. The temperature went down from the 90’s to the mid 50’s over the past weekend. Chilly mornings and evenings call in for some spicy curry, don’t you think? Here is another spicy full flavored fish curry from my home.
This delicious dessert redolent of cardamom and saffron is a huge favorite with my girls. The warm aroma of the roasting semolina and the cardamom in ghee quickly draws them to the kitchen and they wait with their hands on their hips with the continuous sing song “Is it done yet?…”
