The Linzer cookies are the quintessential Christmas cookie; elegant, nutty, and spiced, these crisp, tender sweet cookies are filled with spiced raspberry jam and looks as festive as it can get.
Unlike the more popular soupy preparation of lentils in India, this is a thicker version, and more like a spread. Fragrant with spices and pepper and also healthy, the Sukhi Dal is very easy to make, and is usually a pleasant change for your palate.
This is the ubiquitous sausage, pepper and onion with a sweet exotic twist. There is no dearth of flavors here; the garlic cloves and the tomatoes roasts lavishly on high heat, the onion caramelizes, dash of crushed pepper adds the heat and the dried fruits mildly lend the sweet bites.
There is no better way to welcome the holiday season – the warm perfume of ginger and spices needs to fill our home to get the Christmas cheers started. The flavors are fresh, the cake is moist, fluffy and dense at the same time, with a thin crust outside and it has just the right kind of spices in it; not stingy and harsh but the kind that elaborately enhances the flavors along with the ginger, and warms up your inside that you so desire during the winter time.
