The biggest religious festival in my homeland came by and is in the past for this year. I am guilty of not only of not participating in any activities here, but also of not posting anything on my blog. I do not feel the same emotion in my heart as I did […]
The devil of the winter is back and has a big table of a variety of wintry mix for us. Snow, ice, sleet, freezing rain, howling winds – you name it, and we have it!
While you cook this spicy rice, you will have your home filled with the tickling aroma of the roasted peppers and the sweet corn. Chile, corn, cumin and coriander all nestle together in this bowl, heartily complimenting each other.
Very subtly different from the Biryani is a Pilaf/Pulao. While Biryani is a rich, exotic delicacy created & served with a regal fervor; redolent with beautiful spices & packed the wonderful & unforgettable flavors, lip smacking goodness & heart warming memories – the Pilaf/Pulao is a more simple version of this royal dish.
Another of my Mom’s recipe, which I have always loved & will always hold close to my heart. It is my comfort food – a simple spinach soup, with all in a bowl & one dominant flavor of fried garlic, & this had always been all of our favorite.
