It is seasoned with salt, black pepper, and olive oil<\/em>.&#8221; (Wiki).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nThis Salad is also known as a <strong>Tricolore<\/strong> salad as it has all the 3 colors of the Italian flag. As all other recipes, that evolve over time, this one has it&#8217;s own variations too. I saw the cubed version at the <a href=\"http:\/\/smittenkitchen.com\/2009\/08\/cubed-hacked-caprese\/\" target=\"_blank\">Smitten Kitchen<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/closetcooking.blogspot.com\/2009\/09\/diced-caprese-salad-with-pesto-dressing.html\" target=\"_blank\">Closet Cooking,<\/a> &amp; made it right away for my lunch. I had the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecurry.com\/blog\/condiments-and-sauces\/basil-pesto\/\" target=\"_blank\">Basil Pesto<\/a> ready at hand &amp; I used the pesto in the salad too. I know, it is not the traditional way to to make the Caprese, but a little bit of homemade pesto would not hurt one time, would it?<\/p>\n<p>I encountered these irresistible REDS in the local Farmers Market. They\u00a0 sang out loud to me to take them home. Of course I\u00a0 would take them home, esp. at 69 cents a pound!\u00a0 I bought about 9 lbs of the Cluster Red Vine Ripes &#8211; no regrets. There is no better way to eat red vine ripe tomatoes, but to eat them fresh, right?.<br \/>\n<em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9334\" style=\"border: 3px solid gray;\" title=\"Tomatoes 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ecurry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Tomatoes-1-416x499.jpg\" alt=\"Tomatoes 1\" width=\"416\" height=\"499\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.ecurry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Tomatoes-1-416x499.jpg 416w, http:\/\/www.ecurry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Tomatoes-1-852x1024.jpg 852w, http:\/\/www.ecurry.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Tomatoes-1.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 416px) 100vw, 416px\" \/><br \/>\n<em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Caprese<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Fresh Red Tomatoes, Diced<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, Diced<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"..\/condiments-and-sauces\/basil-pesto\/\" target=\"_blank\">Basil Pesto<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Very Good Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Freshly Ground Black Pepper<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sea Salt <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fresh Basil Leaves<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<strong><em>Preparation:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine the tomatoes &amp; the cheese.
