\nIf you want to sip on something cold, bright and refreshing while the weather is warming up, strawberry daiquiri it is!\u00a0 The best of the juicy strawberries, citrusy, slushy , a bit of the spirit and a taste that you will want to remember and have everyone\u00a0 else coming back for more.

Luscious plump strawberries are almost synonymous with the spring\/summer- both exalts our senses; the nature at its prime, vibrant and full while the strawberries\u00a0 are tantalizing red and juicy fulfilling our palate with ultimate joy.The bright sunshine, and the flowers are mood enhancer and so is the sight of the red strawberries which are to be seen every where. The shopping baskets are getting filled with the bright reds every time I visit the stores – they are irresistible.

The best thing about the daiquiris is that they don\u2019t need the alcohol to enjoy them. The virgin version is equally vibrant and cool.\u00a0 You can see that Arjun got busy entertaining us with the abundance of fresh strawberries we are getting home; ours to make us tipsy \ud83d\ude42 and virgin ones for the kids. Strawberry Daiquiri<\/h2>\n

Ingredients: (serves 2)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

  1. 8-10 strawberries, fresh or frozen – washed and hulled<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. 2 oz pineapple juice<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. 2 oz Seven Up\/Sprite\/any lime or lemon based soda<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. 2-3 cubes ice<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. 3 tablespoons sugar (or as per taste)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. 2 oz rum (preferably white rum) – <\/strong>(Omit rum for Virgin version)<\/em>

    Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.<\/p>\n

    Daiquiri Facts and Origin:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The name Daiquir\u00ed is also the name of a beach near Santiago, Cuba, and an iron mine in that area, and it is a word of Ta\u00edno origin…<\/em><\/p>\n

    Originally the drink was served in a tall glass packed with cracked ice. A teaspoon of sugar was poured over the ice and the juice of one or two limes was squeezed over the sugar. Two or three ounces of rum completed the mixture. The glass was then frosted by stirring with a long-handled spoon. Later the Daiquir\u00ed evolved to be mixed in a shaker with the same ingredients but with shaved ice.<\/em><\/p>\n

    The basic recipe for a Daiquir\u00ed is also similar to the grog British sailors drank aboard ship from the 1740s onwards. By 1795 the Royal Navy daily grog ration contained rum, water, \u00be ounce of lemon or lime juice, and 2 ounces of sugar.<\/em>(WIKI)<\/em>
